Hi! This group was started because although there are a lot of great groups, there wasn't one for "mature moms". Moms in their 30s, and older with newborns and infants. I am 33 and have one young child. When the original organizer stepped down, I stepped up because I wanted to make sure that the group for mommies like me would still be around. Hopefully there will be an interest :) I too, like the group's founder, am not from this area, so would love to meet new moms and explore the Alexandria …

Hi! I've decided to start this group to build a community for moms and dads who live in and around the District, and specifically who rely on the metro or other public transport to attend meetups. The group is open to stay at home and part-time working parents in their 20s, 30s, and 40s as we all have something to offer! If you are curre …

This group is for parents/carers with kids 1-4, it was originally inspired for my daughter who is 3 1/2, however we have a lot of kids under 2 (including my son 15 months). We meet mostly in the afternoons, however we also meet in the mornings as well. Currently most of our meetups are in playgrounds, houses and recreational centres (Blue playground and Charles Houston being current favourites). Hope to meet you soon!

Welcome! This is a group for Moms (and Dads!) who are interested in getting together, during the weekdays (mostly), for socialization between ourselves as well as our toddlers / pre-schoolers (Preggers Moms and Infants welcomed, too!!). We will do basic low-key, low-cost/free 'hang out' meet-ups (in homes, at playgrounds, etc), as well as special events and hopefully some Mom's Nights Out, too. This group was created for families like ours. No... not same-sex bi-racial families, working moms, or active families living in PG county. Whew, thats alot! But by simple geography! Families living in neighborhoods where you may be (or at least) feel like the only one's with kids. And you would love to connect with other parents (parent play-dates!) and just dont understand why it feels like someone requires a passport to cross their neighborhood lines! If you answer yes or maybe to any of thes …

As Fathers of special needs children, much of our time is spent busily supporting the family, going to or attentively finding out how doctor's appointments went, advocating for our kid(s), and simply doing our level headed best to keep it all above water. It's helpful to know we're not the only ones out there, to have a few peers to connect with, and perhaps learn from each other's experiences as we do everything we can to help our kids and family cope with their unique challenge(s). A local Me …

I'm a young, first time mom and I've recently decided to stay at home with my 7month old son. I'm the first in my circle of friends to have kids so I'm hoping to connect with other moms who like to get out and have fun (with or without the kids) and be active. There are lots of existing groups out there but I want this group to cater to the mama who would never call herself cool-- but definitely is, the mama who has every intention of putting on make-up and that cute pair of heels even if just t …
